The Canadian Islamic Congress today issued an appeal to Muslims everywhere to restore to "a calm period for healing" in the aftermath of the publication and republication of the offending cartoons. The message was communicated to national and international media and to media in Muslim countries, and to Ambassadors of OIC (Organization of Islamic Conference) countries in Ottawa and to OIC Secretary General in Saudi Arabia.

When ICSFP was informed of the cartoon being sold on T-shirts, it moved immediately to seek a court injunction. “Our legal counsel informed us that we would have a very strong case if the owner of the copyright brought the case,” stated ICSFP Chairman Ali Jomaa. “So we instructed our lawyer in Denmark to contact the copyright owner and inform them of our position,” he added.

It was mocking the greatest man ever created … the leader of all the Prophets, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. They featured evil, shameless images of him, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, as shameless as any disbeliever’s imagination can be.

Raymond Lakah, an Egyptian magnate and owner of the Paris daily France Soir, fired managing editor Jacques Lefranc after the newspaper printed the caricatures on Wednesday. The newspaper said in a statement that the firing was to show "a strong sign of respect for the beliefs and intimate convictions of every individual."
